Support for drought affected communities
The term ‘rural Australia’ represents communities outside Australian major cities and includes inner and outer regional areas, remote or very remote areas. People living in rural communities are affected by a range of stressors unique to living outside major cities, often compounded by low availability of professional help-seeking services.
Whilst a number of rural communities are drought affected, it is important not to assume suicide prevention needs in all rural communities are the same. There is no single rural or remote community; there are many communities and each area may have distinct needs.
Life in Mind provides a collection of resources and programs aimed at supporting rural communities.
