The next Connect 2020 webinar will be held Tuesday, 13 October on ‘Thinking outside the box: New initiatives in suicide prevention’ and is sponsored by Life in Mind.

Hosted by Suicide Prevention Australia, the Connect 2020 webinar series brings together thought leaders and innovators to share ideas and support a vision of a world without suicide.

So far the webinars have explored a range of suicide prevention topics including mentally healthy workplaces, men's health, carers and postvention.

Everymind Acting Program Manager, Ms Sara Bartlett said the webinar series provides a unique opportunity to connect and learn from mental health and suicide prevention leaders.

"Life in Mind, as a gateway to suicide prevention in Australia supports knowledge sharing within the sector and Connect 2020 provides an excellent platform for highlighting the range of collaborative partnerships, research and suicide prevention activity undertaken," said Ms Bartlett.

Ms Bartlett will play an active role in the Connect 2020 webinar, joining an expert panel that includes Dr Sarah Wayland from The University of Sydney and Chris Killick-Moran, Director of Suicide and Self-Harm Monitoring at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.

Panel discussions will explore the care needs of people who provide support after a suicide attempt, the role of Life in Mind in supporting knowledge exchange in suicide prevention, and how improvements can be made to suicide and intentional self-harm monitoring in Australia.
