Central Australia Life Promotion Network
The Life Promotion Network is a group of people who live and work in Central Australia. Many of our members have a lived experience. The network aims to contribute to reducing the rates and impact of suicide, suicidal behaviour and address stigma through education, conversation and collaboration. The network formed back in 1998 as a steering committee tasked with guiding the work of the Life Promotion Program funded by the NT Government and established as a program of MHACA to address suicide prevention. A name change to the Life Promotion Network occurred in 2012 to better reflect the role of this group. In 2017 Wesley Mission assisted in re-establishing the network as an incorporated organisation under its National Lifeforce initiative.
