Partnerships for Life webinar series

The International Association for Suicide Prevention's Partnerships for Life initiative facilitates and promotes sharing of best practice and effective interventions and approaches relating to implementation of suicide prevention strategies and programmes.

The initiative includes bi-monthly webinars featuring a range of experts in research and suicide prevention approaches. The most recent Partnerships for Life webinar featured two guest speakers, including researchers:

  • Professor Kairi Kõlves, a researcher at the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP) at Griffith University, and Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Suicide Prevention; and
  • Dr Lakshmi Vijayakumar, Founder of SNEHA, and Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Voluntary Health Services, Adyar, Chennai.

Professor Kõlves explored the relationship between climate change and suicidality. Dr Lakshmi Vijayakumar spoke on the changing profile of suicide among refugees.
