The National Mental Health Commission (the Commission) will begin its national rollout of the Making Connections for Your Mental Health and Wellbeing project in July.

Following on from an earlier 2019 Connections project, the 2022 Connections project invites communities across Australia to voice their experiences with the mental health and suicide prevention system from the perspective of those with lived or living experiences, carers and those working in and supporting mental health and suicide prevention service provisions.

The Making Connections for Your Mental Health and Wellbeing project will visit 34 communities across Australia, aiming to capture the diverse experiences and needs of Australians. The experiences captured from this national consultation will contribute to the development of a National Outcomes Framework. This Framework will support evidence informed decisions made by governments, as well as improving transparency and accountability within mental health and suicide prevention systems.

The 2022 Connections project will commence in New South Wales in July before visiting all Australian states and territories. In addition, an online survey is available for consumers to share their experiences who are unable to attend the consultation events.
