Life in Mind research update, March 2022

Read the March edition of the Life in Mind research update, and the latest in translated mental health and suicide prevention research.

This edition features a Q&A with Dr Michelle Blanchard, Special Adviser at the National Mental Health Commission, on stigma, mental health and suicide prevention communication.

Also included is a summary and translation of the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Lived Experience Supplementary report prepared for the National Suicide Prevention Advisory and Taskforce; and details on funding for a new National Eating Disorder Research and Translation Centre.

New research studies include findings on the mental health impacts on volunteer firefighters during the 2019/20 bushfires; insight into Suicide Prevention Australia’s report into gambling-related suicides; and an evaluation of Lifeline’s Eclipse aftercare program.
