Beyond Blue’s Be You Bushfire Response Program was the joint winner of the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience (AIDR) 2021 Resilience Australia National Mental Health and Wellbeing Award.

The national award recognises outstanding contribution to the mental health and wellbeing of Australian communities before, during and after a disaster.

Developed in response to the Black Summer fires in 2019-20, the Be You Bushfire Response Program provided a suite of mental health resources, events and support to schools and early learning services affected by bushfires.

The Resilient Australia Awards event is hosted by the AIDR and sponsored by the Australian Government in partnership with states and territories.

The Be You Bushfire Response Program delivered tailored mental health support to over 480 learning communities across 13 bushfire impacted priority regions in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

Congratulations to Beyond Blue on a wonderful achievement in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our Australian communities.
