Safe Haven

Located in Wollongong NSW, Safe Haven is a welcoming community location that allows people experiencing suicidal ideation and psychological distress to access timely and responsive support as an alternative to the emergency department. Support is from trained peer workers with consultation and support by mental health professionals including use of sensory modulation. Safe Haven promotes the wellbeing of people through assistance and support with managing their distress, both current and in the future and fosters identification of alternatives to emergency department presentations.

The hours of operation are typically after hours when access to other community or primary health services is reduced.
