Mental Health First Aid courses for the public

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses are conducted by accredited instructors, who teach evidence-based MHFA strategies to members of the public. Course participants learn how to provide help to a person who is developing a mental health problem, experience a worsening of a mental health problem, or is in a mental health crisis.

MHFA Australia offer a range of public courses including standard (for adults helping other adults), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, older person (for adults helping older adults), youth (for adults helping adolescents), teen (for adolescents helping their peers) and Chinese Australians, as well as a number of specialised courses and blended learning options to suit a range of different professions.
