Ms Elise Carrotte

Elise Carrotte is a Research Officer at SANE Australia, a national charity working to promote the wellbeing of people affected by complex mental illness. Elise is involved with SANE’s Anne Deveson Research Centre which partners with people with mental illness and their family, friends and colleagues to drive policy and social change. The Anne Deveson Research Centre honours the SANE co-founder’s tireless work in reducing the stigma associated with mental illness.
Ms Carrotte's mixed methods research at SANE relates to treatment preferences and experiences with regards to personality disorders and schizophrenia. She is involved with research and evaluation of the forthcoming campaign Better Off With You, a suicide prevention pilot to be developed in 2019 using co-design. This campaign aims to target perceptions of perceived burdensomeness, a risk factor for suicidal ideation.
Ms Carrotte is also a registered psychologist with a Masters degree in clinical psychology. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association. Her research and professional interests include young people’s health, LGBTI health, eating disorders and body image, and suicide prevention.
