Associate Professor Alison Calear
BAppPsych (Hons), PhD
Alison Calear is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Mental Health Research working in the areas of youth mental health, e-health and the prevention and early intervention of anxiety, depression and suicide. Alison heads the Prevention, Promotion and Educational Systems research unit and is currently leading an evaluation of the Sources of Strength suicide peer leadership program in Australian schools.
Alison was the recipient of a NHMRC Early Career Fellowship (2011-16) and currently holds a NHMRC Career Development Fellowship-1 (2017-20). She is a Chief Investigator for two NHMRC Centres of Research Excellence in Suicide Prevention, six NHMRC project grants and one other NHMRC grant.
