Teen Mental Health First Aid
The teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) course teaches students in years 7-9 and 10-12 how to provide mental health first aid to their peers, and covers the tMHFA Action Plan, types of mental health problems and crises situations in young people, and the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours. The course is delivered as 3 x 75 minute interactive classroom sessions and can only be taught to students in Years 7-9 and 10-12 in settings which also have Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) courses conducted for responsible adults. Members of the public who have been endorsed by an Accredited YMHFA Instructor can become an Accredited tMHFA Instructor through successfully completing the 4-day intensive instructor training course.
