Family & Carer Mental Health Program
The Family and Carer Mental Health Program (FCMHP) is designed to assist mental health carers to build their supports, knowledge and education to assist them during their caring journey.
FCMHP utilises evidenced based approaches by completing the Ministry of Health mandated Carer Star tool for every carer. This tool has been proven to effectively support a person in their caring role to build their own wellbeing and resilience, form an action plan, and identify areas of support.
From a holistic person-centred framework, the support worker-carer partnership enables development of new, solution focused skills and increased self-efficacy, generating hope and strengthening the person’s ability to navigate and cope with arising challenges or difficulties within their caring journey.
