The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the mental health of many members of our community, particularly those who had pre-existing anxiety disorders and psychological problems.

With greater social isolation, increased anxiety about the future and financial pressures brought about by the current recession, we have seen an unprecedented rise in demand for mental health services and support. The Australian Government’s commitment of an unprecedented $5.7 billion in mental health funding for 2020-21 is a reflection of the magnitude of this challenge. During these challenging times, it is critical that we pursue a coordinated approach between the government and mental health providers, implement evidence-based mental health programs and advance towards zero suicide.

Join us at the Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Forum as we share strategies and programs on the current policy outlook, workforce planning, service design and improvement, suicide prevention, digital, youth and Indigenous mental health and mental health service delivery in rural Australia. Our speakers from across the country will share how they have been able to overcome challenges to deliver effective programs that are driving greater mental health resilience for consumers.
